Encore Partnerships

Encore Partnerships are teams that create customized intergenerational projects to serve under-resourced schools, nonprofit and civic organizations.  Projects can be designed to directly benefit recipients and/or increase back-office capacity.  Projects can also be designed to initiate new supports or to ensure the sustainability and longevity of vulnerable programs.

The word, "encore," usually refers to musicians playing a short set after a performance. An "encore career" is what some experienced persons pursue in the years we used to call "retirement."  Many encore careers are part-time and flex time.  And most encore careers can't be performed alone.  They usually take place "in partnership" with members of the younger generations.

So it is with "Encore Partnerships," for we perform our changemaking in tandem both with existing organizations and programs and with the generations that follow us.  Encore Partnerhips teams bring both expertise to create greater effectiveness and the ability to put in the sweat equity to get projects done.

The Platform employs the Let's Be Changemaker design of making a map, minding the gaps and building the app.

Our Business Model is a combination of consultant and delivery of services approaches.

In the offing is the Mentoring through Teamwork project, already in blueprint mode and awaiting to be incubated.

At the heart of Encore Partnerships is mentoring. Businesses increasingly draw on "reverse mentoring," where younger employees guide their elders through the world of technology.  We employ reverse mentoring along with other mentoring innovations, including the "reciprocal" and "cascading" approaches.

In 2021 we'll be incubating our first partnerships, and our focus will be mentoring.  Go to
the Innovations in Mentoring pages in the Owner's Manual to learn more about how mentors are changemakers, the tools at their disposal and the case studies with a holistic perspective.

In the end, it's all about building community.
