HUMAN CENTERED DESIGN
Matters of Design
Desirability. First, is the model “desirable”? That is, does it make sense to and for people? Is there a shared intentions and a sense of purpose? Is it desirable on a number of levels?
Feasibility. Is the model feasible? That is, is it functionally possible within the foreseeable future?
Viability. Is the model viable? That is, does it lend itself to becoming a sustainable business model?
If the answers to these questions are “yes,” then we can proceed to the three-fold and nonlinear framework consisting of inspiration, ideation and implementation.
These design functions closely align with the changemaker’s model of drawing on the three essential variables (energy, channels and leverage) and the three major planning tasks (making the map, minding the gaps and building the apps)

- Inspiration is the dreaming up of new designs.
- Ideation is the process exploration of new models.
- Implementation is the doing, the rounds of rapid prototyping.
