DIAGNOSTIC AND ANALYTIC TOOLS
Our Storyteller's Analytics Tool* focuses on the skills that can help us in observing successful changemakers up-close-and-personal by drawing on two conceptual frameworks for deconstructing social entrepreneur stories
The Mentor's Basic Inventory. As a dress rehearsal for working with your mentee, you may want utilize this “basic inventory” to gain a deeper understanding into the various influences in a young person's life—especially the stages in their development, the “settings and situations” and the “three variables.”
The Mentor's Advanced Inventory operationalizes what social scientists call "the identify engagement theory," which states that many youth, especially those from underserved communities are in a constant state of vigilance (They're "on guard for racism and prejudice.). If that vigilance is confirmed, the youth goes into a second stage called "threat appraisal."
The Blueprint Co-op. As participating citizens build their own apps and measure their results, they can submit their blueprints into this cooperative, so that others can benefit and that methods and results can be improved upon.
The Key Terms & Concepts is a compendium of the most important terms and concepts that undergird our changemaking method. It covers the basics, such as the different kinds of changemakers, the "three approaches to changemaking" (direct, indirect and group), the three variables (energy, dynamic pathways and leverage), the five settings and situations, among others.
- The Arc of the Story (Simplified): What is the Challenge? What is the Struggle? And What are the Results/Resolution?
- Our methodological checklists: Making a Map; Minding the Gaps: and Building the App.
