REFLECTIONS ON A SUCCESSFUL PILOT
Reflections on a Successful Pilot. The creative process of designing and carrying this pilot is noteworthy. I was able to partner who is a technology native who is much closer in age to the young people we were serving. I brought my experience and muscle memory to our deliberations; my Millennial partner, Rob Duran, brought his flashes of insight along with the ability to quickly catalogue and manipulate data. I brought “creativity, slow.” He brought “creativity, fast.”
This is what experts call "reverse mentoring."
Our pilot was the solution to the conundrum that had bedeviled me since my days with the Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship. A Boomer like me could meet all our self-imposed stipulations for service:
Furthermore, just think how a tech platform like Zoom might be used to gather youth in groups in the hands of these professional changemakers:

- I could bring about real change part-time and flex-time within a 15-20 mile radius of my home. (Actually I never left home!)
- I earned a small financial stipend.
- And I received far more meaning and purpose than I gave out!
