Let's Be Changemakers is the story of a "big idea."
It began at The Skoll World Forum in 2007 at Oxford University, where I met and interacted with an extraordinary group of people I had never met -- social entrepreneurs.
As I got to know them, patterns seemed to emerged and a realization set in that there appeared a physics to changemaking -- immutable laws governing the flow and release of energy. within systems.
And I began to organize my thinking around the following categories:
So I built The Big Idea Catalogue to share with others for easy reference on one page what I had learned.
That covers the theory and the method of changemaking. The rest of this website is commentary -- the stories of the remarkable people I met along the way and my own reflections about what I was observing --"a new way of seeing."
Now, it's time to put all this theory to use by enlisting an undervalued resource if there is one -- we elders -- as changemakers.
Let's get started!

As I got to know them, patterns seemed to emerged and a realization set in that there appeared a physics to changemaking -- immutable laws governing the flow and release of energy. within systems.
And I began to organize my thinking around the following categories:
- Three variables within systems -- energy, channels and leverage.
- Three approaches to change -- direct, indirect, and through groups.
- A three-part method -- making maps, minding gaps and building their own app.
So I built The Big Idea Catalogue to share with others for easy reference on one page what I had learned.
