Dear Fellow Elders,
Thomas Jefferson once wrote about "a fire bell in the night that awakened me and filled me with terror." That was 1820 -- an early premonition of the Civil War that would erupt forty years later.
There's another fire bell ringing loud and clear in our own night, for we are in grave danger of losing our democracy. While these times call for action, most of don't know where to begin.
That's "our big idea number one" -- elders working with each other to generate ideas based on the inspiring stories of successful social entrepreneurs. We will get started through our "open office hours" focused on Becoming a Good Ancestor.
Then there is "our big idea, number two" -- elders drawing on our convening power to bring the generations together to better plan for the future -- through a method practiced extensively in Japan called future design:
And then there is "our big idea, number three" -- our physics of change -- a gateway to our method, including the three planning tasks, the three approaches and the three variables -- offered as a handbook.
The catalyst -- we elders and our convening power. This is our generation's "historic opportunity."
Weekly Gatherings. We host weekly gatherings on Fridays on Zoom at 12 noon ET/9am PT. We'll listen carefully to one another, introduce you to our changemaker workshop and answer your questions. We can also share with you two model projects:

- So, why not stir our imaginations by familiarizing ourselves with the stories of successful social entrepreneurs?
- And, why not gather in small groups to turn our imaginations into action?
That's "our big idea number one" -- elders working with each other to generate ideas based on the inspiring stories of successful social entrepreneurs. We will get started through our "open office hours" focused on Becoming a Good Ancestor.
Then there is "our big idea, number two" -- elders drawing on our convening power to bring the generations together to better plan for the future -- through a method practiced extensively in Japan called future design:
- mid-lifers -- those with the greatest agency in their communities and their professions;
- and youth -- those who possess finely-tuned "crap detectors" as "agents in training."
And then there is "our big idea, number three" -- our physics of change -- a gateway to our method, including the three planning tasks, the three approaches and the three variables -- offered as a handbook.
The catalyst -- we elders and our convening power. This is our generation's "historic opportunity."

- The Power of Future Design -- already in progress.
- Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE's) -- still just a blueprint.
