We have put together a compendium of the most important terms and concepts that undergird our changemaking method.

Here are the major ones:

The Different Kinds of Changemakers, forming a continuum from those changemakers who work full time as a career, or "social entrepreneurs," to those of us who take on individual projects as needed, or "everyday changemakers."

The Three Variables consist of dynamic pathways
, energy (systemic) and leverage.   These core concepts are central to an understanding of all manner of changemaking.

The Three Approaches.
You can approach change indirectly (by changing the situation to change behavior), through groups (especially in turning them into teams) and/or directly (by addressing students’ mindsets, values and sense of belonging).  You also may want to approach change by combining some of these approaches.

The Three Planning Tasks constitute our basic method.  That is, we Make a Map, Mind the Gaps and Build the App.

The Environmental Scan constitutes the "where of changemaking" and a major element of Making a Map.  We've settled on these five:
The Inner Situation; The Intimate Situation; The Local Situation; The Online Situation; The Peripheral Situation; and Nested Situations (i.e., situations within situations).
